i wear a size 8-9 but my buddy wears a 4-5. try Larry's Shoes if you can. they have fab service and good selection. at least the one here in denver doesn't bat an eye when i shop there. good (sometimes cheap) dress shoes and athletic shoes. i also have a lot of sucess buying from buffalo exchange.
Dependent on the shoes your looking for, redwing is a good place to buy boots. They are *expensive* ($100-$200) but my last set lasted for nearly five years (Three resolings, two of which were probably not necessary except for stupidity, do *not* allow anyone to talk you into crepe rubber soles) and are still wearable, simply very very beat up. Remember to oil them or whatnot and they will probably last as long or longer (I'm hard on stuff, ask brucebanner ;) ) and they have lists of what styles of their shoes are available in size 5 and up, 6 and up and 8 and up.
now, if I can find a pair of men's rebok hightops in black in a size six or so I'll be very happy... (I can't find them at all, locally..my father found them [he wears the same damn shoes..I didn't talk to the man for five years, came back, and now he's wearing *my* shoes..dammit!] several hours away but only in size eight or larger. *sniff* I've run a hole in the bottom of my current ones)
