Physician-regulated "normal" T levels?

I've been on T a little over 2 years now and recently had labs run by my physician. Everything was in the normal range, but my doctor said my T levels of 760 ng/dL were way above her target range of 300-450 ( Read more... )

I've never heard that before. What "serious side effects" is she concerned about? That's exactly what having regular labs are for - she shouldn't just be checking your hormone levels - so she should be able to just keep an eye on whatever she's concerned about, and if no problem presents itself, clearly your dose is fine and doesn't need lowering.

I actually heard something similar to this from the doctor that's been treating me since the start of my transition (I go to an LGBT clinic that's all encompassing with therapy, T letters, and monitoring), his range was a little different, but not too dissimilar. I haven't had my bloodwork done in a while, but I used to get it done on Thursdays (because my shot days are Fridays, because he found it was easier to monitor the lows in my T-levels ( ... )

My recent bloodwork showed way above cis-male T levels, and my doc did not say anything negative about it. The 'side effects' he was most concerned about were liver function, RBC count, blood pressure and mood - as long as those are OK you shouldn't have a problem.
