Birth certificate in Australia

I plan to go to Australia on a working holiday visa. I live in the UK, can change my birth certificate but haven't since here I see no need unless I were to want to get married. I really can't be arsed with the hassle when I don't need it. All my other ID is male and name changed, my name is changed on my birth certificate but it still says F ( Read more... )

Speaking as an international student in Australia, I didn't have my birth certificate with me for my first couple of years and got casual jobs just fine. With some employers I don't think I even showed them my passport, just my student card. Might be different for professional jobs, but even then, I think the passport would be the more recognized form of ID compared to the birth certificate.
