Should non-op or pre-op FTMs have any say in matters of abortion?

Because it's often framed (at least in liberal media) as having to be explicitly a women's issue and choice, but it's not just women who can get pregnant, and some women can't (if they're trans or infertile).

Well, technically anyone can have any say they'd like on matters of abortion. I myself don't take the opinions of people who are not likely to be directly affected by abortion too seriously, though. That's all.

I would never want to force any person of any gender identity to carry a child that they don't want to carry, given the physical stresses on the body resulting from pregnancy. Of course, that's easy for me to say since I a) will never be able to get pregnant, and b) my religious/spiritual/philosophical beliefs don't actually contraindicate elective abortion.

I feel conflicted on this because though I am pro choice I am not really pro abortion persay. Even with that said my initial inclination is to say Yes, non-op and pre-op FtMs should have a say in the matter since the matter affects what choices they have/ don't have available to them.

Thinking that 'pro-choice' means 'pro-abortion' is unfortunately pretty common. I actually do think it's possible to be 'pro-abortion', but it's just another way to control the lives of people who can get pregnant (and one with nasty racist, classist, etc. overtones every time I see it come up IRL). As such, I can't see how anyone can seriously argue that it has any relationship to being pro-choice.

No but abortion may be a topic to affect them at some point (since they do help in the creation of pregnancies). Everyone is entitled to an opinion. Whether it affects your body or not, it may affect your life.

by that logic, cis- women who have had hysterectomies should have no say. i am not saying that you are wrong, but i am saying that possibly your argument could be better phrased.

anyone who is in a life/body situation where they may one day have to decide whether to have an abortion or not SHOULD be educated and have a say on it, imo.

I should imagine so. One can still get pregnant, and one's body is still affected by these issues.

It is only fair that all people have a say in it, especially those who it could have a physical impact on.
