this is what i remember---it's really not a big deal. you will go in and they give you this super-fluffy robe to put on (which i felt kind of weird in). they will ask you a few questions- -- if you are on T, how long, health history type stuff. then she will take two measurements on your body on each side (to help determine dI vs. peri.) that's about it. then you can go into a parlor area to look at results pics, ask questions, sign forms.
She'll tell you everything you want to know, and leave out whatever you don't want to hear about. I told her I wanted all the details of her procedure (I had a DI with her) and boy, she gave me all the details. Put your questions together beforehand -- who/what you need for aftercare, how to prep for surgery, etc. Even though I only lived a couple hours away from her at the time, my partner and I stayed in a nearby hotel for her next day followup visit. I highly recommend Macaroni Grill for some takeout for your caretaker (and yourself, if you're up to eating afterward).
Pretty much what the people above me said, but.. yeah, you go in and Bettye came in and talked to me for a bit and escorted my mother out while I changed into the examination vest thing. Dr. Fischer came in and did measurements, told me about the procedure and recovery, and answered all my questions (I had them compiled before). Then, my mother came in and had her questions answered. We did get to go into the parlor and look at results, too. After that, I scheduled my surgery.
Also, there's an awesome Egyptian restaurant in the shopping center next door. She pointed it out to us. Good luck!
