Hard packing - Materials, etc.

Jan 05, 2009 00:17

I'm really beginning to start transition in earnest, and part of that has involved feeling the need for parts that I've been missing. I'm wanting to go as realistic as possible.

Questions. )

your question isn't clear.. are you asking about the goodfella and silky, or about other cocks that are approximated by them?

I was asking about the material of the larger one: has anyone had experience with this 'better-than-real' material Colt uses, are toys with phthalates safe so long as you use condoms, and has anyone ever tried using them, or a similar realistic non-silicone toy to good effect?

Mostly, I see stuff about silicone cocks on this comm, so I was curious about the experiences guys have had with other kinds of materials :)

While it is possible to soften plastics with chemicals other than pthalates, it is also more expensive, so odds are, if a piece is not very expensive, that there are pthalates in it. You could call the manufacturer to check, but they may not know for sure. Every cock I have had has smelled plasticky at first. Generally it wears off. A condom should provide adequate protection; however, keep in mind it would still be in contact with you while you're wearing it.

As an aside, 5'' is fairly large for a soft pack.

Yep. I have a fairly good idea of sizes, but I was mostly curious about the safety and smell of things. The only reason I mentioned specifics was because I was wondering if anyone had experience with the Colt brand ones :)

I did get a Doc Johnson one, a long time ago, and the smell never faded. Its not especially pleasant.

My Tantus cock has never had a smell or taste. I know it's silicone, but I wanted to point that out.

If you go to a store where they are sold, they should have a floor sample for you to touch. If not, ask them to open a product so you can check it out. If they don't, then they suck at their job and don't want to sell you anything anyway.

I would advise against purchasing dongs made of materials other than silicone(or perhaps metal) for use with multiple partners. You want your dongs to be easily sterilized and other materials degrade with sterilization and tend to be porous and harder to sterilize in the first place.

But sterilization is mostly an issue if you don't intend on using condoms. OP indicated condom use was something he either planned on doing, or was perfectly fine with doing.

As an aside - what dicks are made of metal and wouldn't that be rather uncomfortable?

One should always sterilize dongs regardless of condoms. I'm curious, have you ever used dongs with multiple partners and condoms? In my experience, condoms are not the be-and-end-all of protection, and sterilization is sometimes necessary, but always a tiny extra step worth completing.

I've had metal and glass(forgot to include that!) dongs before. Some people don't like them, some people do. One of my ex partners was particularly fond of a metal dong that somewhat resembled a rounded and lumpy Christmas tree.

have you considered the vixskin outlaw? it's made of the same material as the goodfella but it's both longer and wider (8 1/2 X 2 vs. 5 1/2 X 1 1/2).

i don't know about that particular material, but on the whole, the pornstar molds and other novelty type cocks tend to be made out of pretty low quality materials. if i had to guess, i'd say it's probably porous and not phthalate free, but a condom would take care of that on your partner's end but not your end.
