Just a note from an Aussie who's been hearing a lot more of this story: The 'hormone treatment' they've approved is just that stuff to delay puberty. Testosterone won't be allowed until this kid is 18.
Thanks for the information. The way it was worded in these two articles (the only two I could find) suggested access to testosterone, which really surprised me.
i think you are correct. but i think initially he was just on hormone blockers and then started T later at 16. but i do not know and this is just based on hazy memory from when i saw it years ago.
i worked with a kid who started T at 13, but he was well into puberty and should have been on blockers for years, but his parentsn couldn't find a doctor to prescribe them.
I don't know what the youngest age in the US has been, but since there are some doctors who do blockers here, I have to assume that the youngest has been at least a few years younger, considering many female-bodied people start puberty well before 12.
