Just a note from an Aussie who's been hearing a lot more of this story:
The 'hormone treatment' they've approved is just that stuff to delay puberty. Testosterone won't be allowed until this kid is 18.

I think in the last aussie case they stated that they could start T at 16. After been on hormone blockers

Thanks for the information. The way it was worded in these two articles (the only two I could find) suggested access to testosterone, which really surprised me.

i think you are correct. but i think initially he was just on hormone blockers and then started T later at 16. but i do not know and this is just based on hazy memory from when i saw it years ago.

i worked with a kid who started T at 13, but he was well into puberty and should have been on blockers for years, but his parentsn couldn't find a doctor to prescribe them.

I don't know what the youngest age in the US has been, but since there are some doctors who do blockers here, I have to assume that the youngest has been at least a few years younger, considering many female-bodied people start puberty well before 12.
