adults are humans and humans are like that.
but i think there comes a point in a person's life when bday presents are no longer a necessity. a thoughtful message in a card should be enough.

I don't think you need to feel guilty or let ppl guilt-trip you, as long as your conscience is clear.

Tes! I haven't forgotten! Actually I was wondering the other day where and how I'd ever talk to you again! I was actually revising my notes, and reminded of you by "testes"! How are you though! (Hope you read this reply too)

And yes. I've always been yay for the card, nay for presents... as far as I can remember. Possibly because my parents have only gotten one present that I've liked, for my 18th! But I guess I just didn't realise how strongly people felt about the opposite opinion.

Yes, my conscience is clear. I find it sad others feel the same way yet don't express it. People like shooting the messenger :)
