I am actually quite proud of this one. ;)

While I absolutely adore sweet vanilla Remus/Tonks romance, my gut feeling about these two characters is that they carry a heavy load of angst that probably just multiplies when they are together. I tried to aim for that as I "painted" this.

Artsy things I learned with this: using saturated colors!

Oh wow, this is amazing! Shirtless!Remus is something we don't see nearly enough of and I love the detail you've given his body and his hair and the shadowing of his face. Tonks is lovely, too; I can just imagine her being so gently affectionate with him. Graceful for once in her life. Just lovely!

Thanks so much for your comment! I like shirtless Remus too - must be something about the skinny boys - although I think he looks too young and I don't know how to fix that. I was watching "The Constant Gardener" the night before I did the line drawing for this and had Ralph Fiennes-ish features in mind for Remus so I think the face turned out about the right age but the body...

Feel free to make icons or whatever. Somebody made a little fan art video on you-tube and included my other two R/T drawings (the one from your fic was also used for their icon/avatar thingy). Pretty cool to just be surfing through fandom and see something I drew pop up. Bet you happen upon recs and stuff all the time for your fabulous fics ;)

Oh, isn't Ralph Fiennes totally Remusy in that movie? I don't normally like him much but I adored him in that. And I think your Remus looks just the right age, he's only in his 30s and Harry observes that he looks young beneath the grey and lines, so I think you don't need to worry!

Oh, eventually I found someone who thinks too that Ralph Fiennes looks like Remus :) I don't know why they couldn't switch them..

Not Alone

Absolutely! Ralph Fiennes is, for me, the quintessential tortured man. Can't say I have the thing for David Thewlis that the folks on my f-list do but I like his Remus as well.

On the other hand, I loooove Fiennes's Voldemort. Particularly in the fourth movie (didn't care much for the movie but totally dug Voldemort's return). I can't wait for his upcoming film with Keira Knightly "The Duchess", I think it's called.
