Is AA a 12 step program? I've heard 12-step programs criticized by most mental-health professionals due to their unexplainable-religious nature (i.e.: you can't do it by yourself, you must rely on a higher-power). This criticism I'm referring to was far before South Park's criticism of 12-step programs.

How was it?

Well NA is run the same as AA, and there is a need to understand you must realize that addicts are not in control, and cannot do it alone. Many assume that this is an intro to Religion, but mostly it means you can't be alone. That's why there are sponsors who have been clean or dry long enough to be a sort of guide. If you ever feel a need to drink or use, you are supposed to call them and they talk you through the steps. I myself am not an alcoholic, but I do know a few. It is seriously a disease, and I hope everyone can get help. Good for you btw. More people should see how it works.

Well I went with Danielle to one on Saturday. And well...like you said it was an experience. We weren't the youngest ones there. I think there was a freshman there or something. Didn't really interview the people.
