It seems that many Intuos4 pen will suffer the same fate if you don't clean them and keep them in an air-tight plastic bag when you don't use them.

Well, my old tube of acrylics paint (Viridian Green, Lascaux) has dried out as well. But it lasted for ten years, it was almost empty, and it cost a fraction of the price I paid for the Intuos grip pen. (Also, since I can't love acrylics despite trying out the best brands, I'm going to quit that after finishing off my acrylics paints as well.)

Dried-out Copics can be rescued and refilled, and even refined linseed oils can get bad although that doesn't happen very soon. Watercolours last forever (you can use gum arabic and water to moisten the cakes a bit, and dried tubes can be cut out and used like pan colours). In the end, I suppose art supplies are expensive in general, but I'm more productive when I use traditional medium although I like to use Sketchbook Pro to colour or enhance fanart. At least I can still use the mobile version.

Curry got me a new intuos tablet for my birthday that came with Corel as a download. Haven't played with it much yet - seems a bit obscur from my first attempt, but certainly seems to have more varied tools. (Also holy moly it's amazing the difference with my other tablet - so much wider and more sensitive. Wow. :X)
Am sorry to hear about your tablet pens - it's a bummer. Good luck with the fanart! (And it's totally fanart - if fan-manipulations of canon images counts, so does this.)

(Hugs!)

Congrats to the new Intuos, Dag! :D Since you can use the other tablet, you will be able to use this one as well. Just take care to save your work when you work with Painter. It's a great programme but it has never worked reliably for me. It has always killed a drawing at some point.
