My 2007-laptop died today. And since it's so old that repairing it would be too expensive so that it's not worth it, it will stay in my "computer museum" since it served me really well in the past seven years

I must say I like the old silver keys of the 2007 Macbook Pros much more than the new black ones, though. And now that we're renovating, I'm not keen on spending money on a new laptop... *has problems letting go of her old one

Yay, that's great that the poor thing is struggling to keep going! Yes, back up stuff. It's so sad when faithful computers finally conk out, for many reasons.

Yes, and the new ones are so expensive, which bothers me when I'm not excited and overwhelmed by what they can do. I considered upgrading my laptop but then it's probably not worth it on the long run since I'd have to replace too many things.

I somehow still hope my old laptop will survive for another year. I love the old silvery keyboard, I love the matte screen (am not a fan of the glossy new screens) and I love the fact that it's still so fast that I can write and surf the web and watch videos after seven years. Too bad it's not good at multitasking anymore. Video editing has become a pain as well.

Yeah, I have the same problems. I need a new computer, but they're so expensive, and I don't like Windows 8.

Good luck with your laptop continuing to run! That is a very good thing that you can still do all those tasks with it.
