Yeah, that was a big shock this morning. I think you can see in the interview that he is a bit torn between going on to new projects and his love for the show. Did you watch his acceptance speech for the NTA? I loved how the one 'guard' behind him looks like he really has to suppress a smile when David said that "you'll be wheeling me out of the TARDIS in my bath chair." (or is this just the picture quality? no, I don't think so)
The phone prank sounds really bad. Pretty tasteless thing to do, but if it was a pre-recorded show, then someone should really just have stopped the two. I mean, it's no secret that they tend to push the borders or break rules... I really have no idea how I would react if I had to decide what to do now. Just hope they'll let Ross carry on in some way (or another network grabs him, I could easily live with that)
Isn't it? I just hope he'll do more work for cinema. British TV movies usually don't make it to Germany, and buying all those imported DVDs is a pretty expensive hobby ;)

I don't know: is there anyone who is sorry about Brand? I saw a petition from someone who wants him as the next Doctor, but from what I've seen that's about the only person on the net who will miss him XD Jonathan, though... *is worried*

And I agree with you COMPLETELY about the whole Brand Ross fiasco, it's pathetic how much this has been blown out of the water. It's pathetic!
