2. Even though you're not particularly fond of your own voice/features, is the video phone really for you? Perhaps there are others in your world that crave the sound of your voice and appreciate your looks?
In William Gibson's novel Count Zero, the shopkeeper Finn had a video phone with a integral device that altered his facial features and voice with the intent to make him look better--but wound up making him look weirder. *shrug* One technology I don't have faith in, I guess.
