Less efficient, and still lethally toxic R134a you mean? *grins*
There are some spif a/c systems that are environmentally friendly on cars, they use co2. But they are ,ah, a bit higher in pressure (around 2000psi) and don't work well in the the temps we hit in parts of the US. A few auto makers use them in Europe though. They have the added benefit of being a fire fighting system if you get into an accident.
