The sad thing is- I used to be a screener (back in 90-91) before the TSA and it was WORSE. The only reason there was nothing posted like this back then was (1) there was no real Internet as we know it now- and (2) There was NO MANUAL. As part of the 'security' private enterprise provided in those days, we had no real training, got a dime above minimum wage an hour, the machines were worse, and there was no real centralized source of procedures to compromise. So while I understand where you are coming from, and get really pissed at the stupidity of the people who posted that manual, I can't say the act of establishing a TSA was actually a bad idea in and of itself. For instance, the day that one guy was fucking around with a mace canister we'd taken from a passenger at the checkpoint and wound up setting it off and clearing out an airport lounge with a stinging chemical cloud is burned in my memory forever... :P
