I've always wanted to attend an actual reenactment of a game with strict guidelines like WWII reenactment or I guess 'Nam now.

Airsoft teams have been recreating every military and fantasy event they can for years.
One minute I have an invite to a Fallout themed match and a weekend later I hear reviews of a Vietnam or later milsim game.

Balanced squad-on-squad shootouts rarely happen in war. One side or the other has superior numbers or superior firepower and can overwhelm their opponents. And the more famous battles of modern times featured weapons that go far beyond what's possible with Airsoft or paintball. Want to convert pickup trucks into tanks and reenact 84 Easting or The Chinese Farm? ;)

I was too young for Vietnam to have an early impact on me and I didn't learn much about it till I was a teenager. The first I saw of war in the news was terrorism: Black September at Munich; LAPD blasting the SLA to cinders; Troubles in Northern Ireland; the Israelis versus the PFLP and the Ugandans at Entebbe.
