Trying to Keep Cool

So far so good. Back running after replacing the motherboard fan and adding a expansion-slot-mounted fan as well. (Knock on Formica.) The fellas at Computer King suggested that if I upgrade I should get a power supply with an integral fan too. I just might do that.

Take a look at the way the airflow works. You need fans flowing in and out, to make sure the heat is exiting and not just being distributed in the case. I have 7 fans in my pc, 2 inlet, 2 outlet, 1 cpu, 1 power supply, and 1 on the video card. Another option is the fishtank PC *grin*

Turns out the power supply does have a fan on it. The guys at King didn't notice. So I actually have four fans on this compy now: p-supply, m-board, box and slot.

A desk fan near the computer, a simple solution, actually helps a lot too.

The geometry of this computer room/hallway kind of limits what kind of circulation aids I can use. I should put some shelf or something above the printer cart. :|
