I picked up the odd bit; by the time the holiday was nearly over, I'd picked up loads of really strange words and was having rather amusing, super-disjointed conversations with cabdrivers, restaurant owners and shopkeepers.

Try explaining easter to a Japanese cabbie in his native language. It's more than difficult. XD

I know I thought of that right after I commented, I'd put saran wrap around it and wrap myself in layers of blankets during storms..all settled then :D

So do I; that was the day I went to Harajuku, so I made a super-special effort. XD I think it might have been a bit much, but it was an uber-fun experiment to say the least.

I went to LaForet and got all chummy with one of the shopkeepers, and halfway through a conversation she asked if I was a designer. I was so secretly proud, even though it probably wasn't meant as a compliment, I thought I might burst. XDD

God, no!! We were talking in a mixture of broken english and japanese, with me constantly thumbing through a dog-eared sketchbook. I'm -horrendous- at languages. XD
