As a poor college student, I strive to be as frugal and indulgent as I can. My new(ish) hobby is throwing "fabulous parties," necessarily on the cheap.
I created a community to share themes, ideas, decorations, menus and whatnot: partyplanning.
Our last event ("we" is me and drhackenbush) cost about $300 to feed almost 40 people prime rib, a glazed ham, various desserts and sides, and rent a hall. I'm thinking we're going to have to start potlucking or asking for donations.
