Can this be my place-holder comment for when I finish watching? I'm going into this expecting it to be great, so let's see if it lives up to expectation! :D

I watched it YEARS ago, but I remember loving the story very much and have sympathy for the "bad" guys.

Oh yes, I definitely sympathized with the gangsters too. In fact I felt pretty indignant when they were set-up like that at the end of the film D:

YES. Okay so here it goes: I watched this yesterday, on our little boat, on a crappy little laptop screen and I absolutely ADORED IT. Not gonna lie, I wasn't expecting much, I was expecting a gangster movie (an old gangster movie lol,) and just yeah. I didn't think it would be my thing. BUT IT WAS.

I loved their interaction, I loved how they were so in love and I thought it was adorable. I loved how it was made, I love the intro with all the pictures, and I loved the close ups! Fay Dunaway was a gorgeous gorgeous woman and I'm sorta kinda in love with the way she did Bonnie.

So yeah, I'm so happy I watched it :D

-downloading transamerica now- very excited about that one too!

YES. I REALLY DID. Is it bad that I wasn't expecting to love it this much?

Not really. I don't think I expected much of this before I watched it for the first time :O

Bonnie and Clyde is considered a landmark film, and is regarded as one of the first films of the New Hollywood era, in that it broke many taboos and was popular with the younger generation. Its success motivated other filmmakers to be more forward about presenting sex and violence in their films. (from wiki)

Any thoughts? Is this something you considered before?

I have to agree that I was a bit ~shocked~ at how this movie portrayed sex. (Because I wasn't expecting it in a movie made in the '60s) They weren't afraid to show that making out scene in the car, and then later on the bed when Clyde couldn't go through with it. I kept thinking: "Wow, they're showing a lot for a movie from that time, aren't they?"

Kind of random, but I saw Raging Bull last night and Cathy Moriarty reminded me so much of Faye Dunaway:
