As of this afternoon, meeko.frigiden.net/yip.todfox.net no longer exists. It has been powered off, its DSL connection disconnected, and its hardware removed

I don't think I could ever live without sarabi. It's nice to have a place to throw files up for people to download, host photo galleries and my own little personal collection of "junk" and so on.
Not to mention an Icecast server so that friends and I can DJ on Second Life. :)
In any case, good luck continuing to simplify. Sometimes I envy people who manage to get by with a single computer as their only system. But my needs exceed what a single laptop can provide...
What I've been doing for a few years now is getting out of the serving business. When I first got introduced into Linux in '95, I was all gung ho about serving content and maintaining a place for my friends. It's because of all that yakko and I were able to get WTnet off the ground. I built my own server iron, compiled and administered my own applications, even tweaked application source code. Over the years, I've just become burned out on it, and this is the end of that path.
meeko/yip by this year had been relegated to serving DNS and WWW for wtower.com, and that's it, so it was really just chewing up electricity and generating light and heat.
I still have my Power Mac G5 tower that will be worthy of serving anything while I'm on the road if I need, but I don't foresee anything right now.
