I notice that Evan didn't quit his job, just called in with flu. That bridge isn't burned.
I liked that Zakhar here seems to me to have a valid reason for his twin's actions, backing up Laurel's opinion of Ilya. Twins are normally so close, closer than regular siblings. For him to fight against Ilya seemed off but here his attitude is justified.

Yes. What does Santos hope to get from him and do vampires age? Does Santos need to have a child for an heir? Is this going to be a mpreg story? (hopeful smile *followed by a chuckle*)

I was wondering about this Thursday night, and here it is!

I see a few what-look-like clues, but I'm just not catching what's going on yet - though I'm loving the suspense. It'll be interesting to see how Evan handles things when he finds out, 'cause it's clearly going to piss him off.

I don't know Evan enough to always tell when he's being snarky, but I wonder if he's thinking of jerking Santos around royally when push comes to shove... Or at least *planning* on doing that, given he doesn't know where all this is going.

Hehe, looks like Santos will have to deal with blue balls (do vampires actually get them?) for a while yet, I don't think Evan is letting him of the hoof very soon. He seems to be the kind of person that smiles and nods and voices his objections with utter calm unitl he snaps and pulls out the chainsaw. And poor Santos would be more worried about evan hurting himself than the beautiful manor or his own skin. he, that would be an epic picture.
And you are introducing more and more interesting characters... it's impossible not to love them even after a few paragraphs. He’s really not a bad guy, he’s just being fucking stupid!
Really looking forward to more!
