Doctor Matt responded to Sheriff Lucas's evil, Southern and undeniably sexy wiles by having the network execs thinking he wasn't 'proactive/masculine' enough to be an effective foil and ordering him off the show. Which makes me really very angry. Growl.

On a less metatextual note; IN ALL FAIRNESS he had been driven mad not a week before by Merlyn, and probably still suffering. And he did it for Caleb. And he got to be disturbingly sexy wielding a 'lady's gun' and talking about shooting three places he knows would be instantly fatal. And Lucas did really just put him somewhere he'd always know where he was. And come visit him. Snarkily. How much did it look like they going to kiss at the end there? Go on, admit it.

Anyway, Matt is awesome precisely because he's all flaily and conflicted. It makes him interesting. Whereas Billy is all, I FIGHT CRIME AND INFECTIOUS DISEASES! GRR! LOOK AT ME! ALSO I THREATEN EVIL SUPER-POWERY SHERIFFS WITH NEEDLES AND SOMEHOW DO NOT END UP ON FIRE OR FALLING OUT A WINDOW! and I'm like, pfft, whatever.

Hah, that plague episode was awesome, 'cause all the way through it everyone is like, "This is your doing, isn't it?" and Lucas is all, "No," and they're like, "Admit it!" and he's all, "I said no!" and then Merlyn is like, "IT'S ME! I WAS THE PLAGUE-SOWER ALL ALONG!" and Lucas is like, "Bitch."
