I liked this a lot. You did that thing that can be so daunting with an AU, which is to take the characters and skew them just enough to fit the new setting, while still keeping them completely recognizable as themselves. The bits of canon you wove in there were very effective, too.

and of course Casey would sit up and watch over Dan. perfect.

Wow. I don't know how I didn't read this earlier, but I loved it dearly. You did a wonderful job of writing the SN crew and keeping them *them*, in a totally different style. I'm incredibly impressed.

I want to first off mention what a daunting task this had to have been. Hemmingway is hard to read, and I'd imagine harder to write, but you DID it. out_there rec'd me this fic, because I'm a secret Danny/Nat lover (though, don't tell my Casey/Dan compadre's, they might lynch me). Actually, not so secretly. Anyway, I liked this a lot. Good job of keeping them themselves, and the sprinkling of quotes was very effective.
