So, minor emotional breakdown averted. Thank you all for the love. I took a nice hot shower and some deep breaths and Aja and I cuddled up and watched the X-Files movie and all in all, it wasn't that terrible. I cried a little, but not a lot ( Read more... )

Ooh! I know this one! Gardasil is this neat new vaccine that prevents HPV. HPV, in it's different types, can cause genital warts or ovarian cancer. So in a round-about way, it's a cancer vaccine.

You might've seen their ads touting that "You could be ONE less." ?? Maybe? They're all over the place here. I've been telling all my girls that I think it's worth looking into.

A lot of insurances cover it, if you're between a certain age, I think... but it really depends. You can get it from your general healthcare provider or your gynecologist-- either one. If you had to pay for the shots separately, though, it can be pricey... like maybe upwards of $100 a shot, depending on the doctor... but like Leigh said, the benefits outweigh the costs, I think.

Yeah, your arm will definitely be sore, but not TOO sore...okay, it wasn't for me. It'll be worse in the few hours directly after the shot usually, but it will get better as the day goes on. Treat it like you would if you'd been working out really hard the day before, you know?

And I would have commented for you, but things here have gotten so bad that I'm going to stay with a friend for the next few days, so... :-/
