School hadn’t allowed for the pair to meet much over the last few weeks. Midterms were upon them, with several exams a week, and term papers to turn in, and that simply didn’t allow for boyfriend time. Gabriel didn’t mind as much. He missed him, of course, and missed the time they spent together, but with all the schoolwork he was buried under, he ( Read more... )

Leonard would find it safe to say the last few weeks had sucked. He had more work than he cared to even think of, whilst he was busy at the clinic. He missed Joanna, finding it near impossible to communicate with her as the only hours he had free, were those he was supposed to use for sleeping. He missed Gabriel, too. He had never expected to fall in love with him, never mind miss him so much when they were apart. For all his grumping, Gabriel made him happy. He was sure Jim missed Gabriel just as much, if only for the fact being apart made Leonard snappier than usual.

He finished up with his patient and, needing to complete some paperwork before he could return to his dorm, he made his way to his office.

And stopped dead in his tracks as he saw Gabriel.

"Sure hope those feet ain't on my desk," he spoke up, closing the door behind him.

"Yer gonna make a softie of me, Gabriel," he replied, kissing him slowly and deeply for a moment. Shaking his head as he pulled back, his lips quirked in amusement. "Think Jim'll be pleased he doesn't have to listen to me gripe about not seeing you," he had to hand it to his friend. Jim had put up with a lot of that over the last few weeks. "Ain't been sleeping either. Not the same without you."

He laughed heartily though and squeezed Gabriel playfully in his arms, hand moving to grip and slap his shoulder in an almost bro-mance sort of way. "Now you an' I both know I don't need any help lasting a long time at anything."

"You? A softie? I don't really think that's possible." Gabriel laughed at that, shaking his head at the idea. No - he liked him just the way he was. "Oh? Have you been complaining about it?" There might be a grin slowly spreading across his face. Yep, it definitely is. "I can't see how you'd miss me. All I do is snore."

"Well you never know. Isn't there a saying about how there's always room for improvement?" he asked as he opened the door, letting the other in first. "I suppose we could practice together."

He too laughed, playfully slapping Gabriel's shoulder and nudging against him as he did so. "You do snore, but it's comfortin' to hear. I just roll you onto your side and you stop. That's the trick to it." Of course, it had driven him insane the first few nights until he had worked out just what stopped him snoring like that.

"Sure, we can do that."

Gabriel gaped at him, scandalized. "I do not snore!" he exclaimed and let out a soft grumble, even though he was aware that he probably did. No one wanted to admit that though and he tightened his grip on the other man's hand, despite his grumbles. "You're clearly crazy. Come on, food will clear your mind."

"Like a lawnmower on gravel, but I love you anyway," he replied with a smirk. Admittedly, Gabriel wasn't nearly that bad, but it was far too easy - and enjoyable - to tease him like this.

"Well, you better, because I don't plan on stopping sleeping with you any time soon," Gabriel grumbled back at him, though his lips twitched with amusement at the thought as they went inside, and he lead the other to an empty table in a corner where they could at least be somewhat alone.

"So what do you want, my dear?"

"Good. I'd be mighty upset if you did," just like he had been the last few weeks without them doing so. He made sure that, even when he sat at the table, he kept some contact with Gabriel, flat out refusing to let go of his hand until he had to.

"Anything. What about you?"
