Seriously. I've never regarded myself as a foodie, but at least I know what cilantro is. At least I occasionally try not to be an ignorant Orientalist fuck. When I read the Starving Students' reviews of local restaurants, I'm actually embarrassed.

I tried to read the article that you posted to (I think - this URL works better for me, and they are talking about an unidentified green herb). Not only is it ignorant, but (as Martha puts it) it kind of reads like slash...
