Cunobelinus really was blindly ignorant of what was going on.
Salathiel was inhibited by his own upbringing and should have talked to Cunobelinus about what was happening and how he was feeling.
Are there no couples counsellors? hmmmm.

I liked how you've brought in the concept of gender with the tie in that most of the demons are males.
Very old fashioned the gender inequality going on here and it does to some degree exist in the military for spouses. He had to set up the telephone and housing, admittedly we were overseas in a hispanic society.
I can't see a female demon being a pushover though. *grins* Perhaps it's the spouse being non-demon and usually stuck in one gender as a human would be.
Salathiel needs to melt a few more demons. *evil grin*

Cunobelinus goes off to work everyday where they are surrounded by people who believe the same non-traditional things they do. Salathiel's job was close to home, where Hezekiel was, but they couldn't really articulate what they were feeling, partly because then their family would be right and partly because they were trying to be a good spouse. This was where Cunobelinus wanted the family and if that's what it took to love them... And Cunobelinus is 'color blind' and genuinely didn't notice that he only saw angels at work.

What, and admit to an outsider they have a problem?

No, the females aren't pushovers, if only because they buck the trend of everyone being male.

Way more demons. This isn't where they were raised where everyone knew they could be melted or struck down at a fellow angel's anger. In their neighbor people just thought Salathiel was weak.
