Record, maybe

I wrote 20,000 words in the last three days (20k is after cutting scenes that weren't working etc and the three days include a day when i didn't get home until 5pm). Over 9k of this was yesterday. The most I've remember ever writing was 34k over seven (calendar) days and I think my daily record was about 7k. My back and legs are sore from all ( Read more... )

Wheeeeeeeeeeee! YES.

Whoever Dal's demon boyfriend was is a jerk or *sighs* these things happen. Loved the kitten in the jacket

Is this in The Demon 'Verse or an alternate verse?
Demon playing off plane while hunting for his mate?

This is one of the Wizard Universities where about 10% of the students and 5% of the professors and staff are demons (the next paragraph mentions a Demon Studies building). And about half the boyfriends of Steele's friends.

The school is mostly familiars, though, because they populate faster than Wizards. And wizards can be familiars too.

Hezekiel is a graduate student as are a lot of the demons at the college. They go to find their Mates or maybe they just incidentally find them.

*GRINS* Yes it is exhilarating being in the thrall of writing a story.
WOW word count. *Snickers at trying to direct name length*
I think if you're writing in Word that you can assign a symbol or letter to a word so it types in as that word or you can tell it retroactively to change @ to the name you choose. We had a problem with the students setting up a letter or short word that sub in a different word, usually something not-politically-correct.
We've a new system now and the computer stations are set to individual students' accounts on the cloud. You play with word substitutions, you're the only one it will impact.

It's so hard to pull out. Last night as I was trying to figure out the last part of the last scene, I turned to my husband and asked it we'd had supper, because I was too out there to pay much attention to this world.

It blows my mind: 9,179 words (on a keyboard I've been meaning to take apart because a few letters are sticky and either need to be held down or one press will get several of the letter).

I can't believe I didn't think of that. It would have been soooo much easier. I use Scrivener, but it should work for any program with a find and replace. I think I'd do S# and C$, etc, so I'd more easily remember who was what symbol. Plus it will help a lot with names with accent marks, I was going to give up on a name (of a character who would be in a side story, but is not named in this one), but now I won't have to (if I decide to write it).
