Off for the Holidays and Sharing Music

Dec 23, 2006 22:37

I'm off to Pangasinan for the Christmas break. I'm hoping to see some of you soon. I'll be gone 'til the 26th with Kat's family. So excited to go beach hopping, write, and breathe nature in.

So anyway, before I leave, first I want to share one of the best finger-style acoustic musicians I've ever had the pleasure to see:

Andy Mckee playing his composition "Drifting":

This guy is just wicked talented. Lovely style, and a sensation in his compositions that he probably dips into a dimension of pure music to weave his guitar so well. An acoutic-god in his own right, he plays with such peace.

And Antoine Dufour, playing his composition "Spiritual Groove":

I love Mr. Dufour's style. This is one of his more folksy songs; he plays a rendition of a Don Ross cover with serious spunk. I love that he's aggressive and yet controlled with his playing and that his timing is spot-on.

These two are wonderfully talented musicians and a great Christmas treat for those who know real talent and good music when they see it.

If anybody's interested in Andy Mckee's music, give me a holler. I've got mp3's; but he's so much more impressive on video and infinitely more so live (I should think!).

Second, Merry Christmas to everyone. May your season be filled with joy, plenty, and the mirth of family and friends. Cheers!
