Funny that Dad just called, businessman that he is. It's 3AM in London and he flew into the UK sometime yesterday. He's worried about mom; then again, we all are. He asked about Tita Edna and I said that she appreciated the flowers we sent her. He told me that in spite of her hang-ups, mom's really just a great person and I quite thoroughly agreed ( Read more... )

Wow, your dad's got his head and his heart in the right place. You're a lucky girl.

I remember my dad once telling me that the really rich folk don't go around dressed "like a million bucks". They'd prefer to go really simple, because they don't feel the need to validate themselves that way. It's like they've come to realize money's not what makes them happy. It's just a means to help them and other people find happiness, and not the only one, at that.

Your dad's an OK guy in my book. :)

He's actually my idol, even if he thinks I'm the most obnoxious, rebellious daughter sa balat ng mundo. And even if he loses his head sometimes...and his heart. Gotta love 'im. And I agree on what your dad said; I've been told the same and I've seen it in my father.

because tycoons don't make money the end all and be all of life. they're not ruled by money. they rule money. :)
