Should have around 3/4 parts.
‘Wow. In person, he is like…wow’
For some reason, Chloe Sullivan didn’t live up to Oliver Queen’s expectations. He’d expected someone taller, with darker hair, and more in-your-face.
Instead, she was small and blonde.
When Clark introduced them, her face lit up and then she was in front of him, babbling something about Lois.
He politely enquired about her article on Dark Thursday - expecting to start rambling on about the article, filling her mini-speech with some obscure references, like Lois.
Instead, she glanced at Clark before looking at the floor, nervously.
He had to prompt her before she acknowledged him again.
She grinned at him. Oliver wasn’t sure if Lois had ever told him that Chloe had a beautiful smile, but he was sure he’d remember from then on.
He smirked back, deciding to leave, and starting out the barn. Chloe’s voice echoed after him, muttering praise about he left.
Oliver couldn’t help smiling.
‘I did have to figure out your green-leather fetish on my lonesome’
When Oliver saw her on the CCTV, he blinked a few times before letting her in. What was Clark thinking, Sending Lois’ cousin to help find Bart? Within seconds, she’d announced she’d figured out his secret, was expecting Victor and AC to be in the room, and knew everything about Clark Kent.
Clearly, he’d underestimated her.
After the shock wore off, he lowered the computer screens and Chloe was already saying where Bart was being kept. They brought up the blueprints and then she announced that not only was Bart there, but there was a large possibility that Clark was in serious trouble.
He’d handed her an earphone, given her a codename, and led the boys to the Ridge Facility.
It was strange, hearing her almost constantly in his ear (like Lois, she was always talking), but he found he didn’t mind. It was impressive how she could direct them, how she wasn’t judging them for blowing up a large facility, how she could save people from so far away.
They’d left the building, returning back to the Clock Tower. It was bizarre, seeing his team congratulating someone else, someone who wasn’t an official member, who had no superpowers at all.
She’d left with Clark, but before she’d gone, she’d smiled at the whole team.
And Oliver was forced to remember just how beautiful her smile really was.
‘There are more important things in the world than what I want’
“So…”
Oliver turned, seeing Chloe leaning against the lift. “Chloe?”
“I was just coming to check that you weren’t running off on another 33.1 adventure.” She smirked, clearly noticing the small bags at his feet. “I’m hoping those are for Monte Carlo and not Corto Maltese.”
Oliver glanced at her in confusion, wondering what she was talking about. There was silence. “I’m glad you’re here.”
She shot him a puzzled look, before rolling her eyes. “I’m guessing you forgot the trip with Lois.”
Oliver swore, slumping slightly. “Yeah.” he grimaced. “But, I have to do this, Chloe.”
“I get it.” she said, walking over to him. “World’s more important. Just, this is Lois and if you hurt her…”
Oliver looked down, ashamed. “I have to go to Corto Maltese.”
“Look, I’ll get Clark to go, talk to your boys over the com, and you can have a nice break from the whole Green Arrow thing.” she said, looking at the ceiling. “And Lois doesn’t get hurt.”
“Heroes don’t have breaks.” he said. “Figured you’d know that already.”
She nodded, stepping out of his way. “Fine, you can walk past me now, or you can stay here and I’ll sort everything out.”
Oliver looked at her, incredulous. “You’ve known me for what, a week?”
“Weakness of mine, I just have to help heroes.” she grinned. “Look, I promise it’ll be done before you and Lois have gambled all your money away.”
Oliver smiled. “I’m sorry, Chloe, but this is my life.”
He walked past her, and then it was him standing by the elevator and her gazing back at him from the centre of the apartment.
“I’ll call you if I need you.” Oliver said, as he turned to walk into the lift. “Thanks for the help, Watchtower.”
