Such great imagery. That sight of Frodo back then at his most vulnerable has stirred the protective longing in Sam to true passion. It was brave of Frodo to risk being so vulnerable again now. Their night together is beautiful with passion and gentleness. A very loving journey home. Thank you xxx

This is beautiful - I love the imagery you have used here - I can picture Frodo's face reflecting in the fire, and the hot summer sun beating down on them both.

I was so thrilled to see Sam and Frodo have this moment together and I loved the slow build up to that point. Lovely writing and a great read. Thank you, MA!

Oh, goodness, I so loved reading this! :))) And I want to reread it closely and carefully, but my favorite part - so far - is your description of Frodo's changed awareness of Sam. This disturbing suddenness of total, sensual presence reflects so much of what they have shared during their journey. Yes, Frodo has fallen in love, but there's so much more to it, too: you've captured a unique, raw feeling there that really speaks to me ( ... )

Thank you so much, Cara. I find it hard to believe anything sexual happened between Frodo and Sam on the Quest, especially in Mordor, but Vaysh is right that there is something very erotic about how Sam sees Frodo in the tower. Her request really spoke to me. I started thinking about how that image might recur to Sam later and how it would make him feel. I imagine that Frodo couldn't have written Cirith Ungol, or the remainder of their journey, without Sam's help, but there is nothing they can't accomplish together. And of course, I always want them to be happy and in love, so I had to give them that.

Thank you again! Any comment from you is like gold. :-))))

So, I finally get up the nerve to read a LotR fic and this was brilliant. I'm not a canon purist but love the dreamlike atmosphere canon always creates for me. And this fitted so perfectly. Thank you, MA!
