Pants

I reach into the back of my closet and pull out the nice pair of dress pants usually reserved for job interviews and nights out in the chi chi parts of town.    They are the perfect fit, a pair of well hanging straight black pants that hug my hips and accentuate my lower half in just the right way.  In fact, they're kind of loose on me--which just ( Read more... )

Hurrah! good for you for wanting to banish that muffin top. Sadly, mine has blossomed into a muffin-top fun pack. Once I am over the con-crud, it's back to the treadmill for me. good luck sister!

Thank you! And best of luck to you too.. I think once you start it's a great high that you want to experience again. I love the energy that comes with it and the strength I feel in my core. I just can't allow myself to take too many days off because it's amazing how quickly one forgets how good that feels. (or maybe it just feels better to pudge on the couch?)

One indicator of being on the right physical/mental track is the seemingly contradictory mindset of: I'm happy in the here and now of my fitness regimen, AND looking forward to reaching that next milestone - jeanwise, whatever.

It's like you said - you enjoy the routine of exercise as a great way to kick off your day, and hopefully you enjoy everything else life offers in the present. With that in mind, the rest will come. I remember how cool it was when out of the blue I was one belt-hole in from before, and I went and posted the news on redux.

Good luck with you goal!

Yup, I really enjoy the way it makes me feel not only in the morning but for the rest of the day...it's quite the rush!

Thank you!

Like i've mentioned to 'e, I lost 25 pounds 6 years ago and have kept that weight off. More recently, before my "belt-hole breakthrough" I was happy with the here and now THERE and THEN (or something.)

I've been meaning to post about it on LJ, but I've wanted before and after pix (by before I mean way back when i was significantly overweight), there's quite a contrast. But when my dad passed away my mom threw out a lot of older pictures. Even so, i may still post about it.

My myspace friend Jill responded to that pic by sayiing "jeez, Cam, you need to do MORE situps - LOL!"

Going out on a limb here and assuming she was being facetious, that's music to my ears! (Also, there's a certain Goddess-among-women who said she never reads PMs, 'cause she gets too many. I sent her 5 or 6 that went unread, with one exception. I had just switched to that pic as my av, and within 10 minutes the outbox status of my PM changed from "Sent" to having been "Read." Now, IF she broke her rule because she liked my pic, i can die a happy man.)

I am n the process of trying to totally flatten out my stomach. As in I want it to be petty much COMPLETELY flat without me holding it in. I'm getting reasonably close to that...although I was naughty and had takeaway fish and chips for dinner last night, but that was my last major indulgence before my holiday. Sersly. ;) The good thing about building up those muscles is that they start to hold themselves in eventually!

The muffin top sure is a wake up call. And you're way more disciplined than me - I don't do gyms. ever. That is more about avoiding other people than being lazy though. I just exercise at home instead.

Best of luck with the flat stomach--sounds like a fantastic goal. =) I'm still working on trimming the excess fat, but I would absolutely love to have a naturally flat stomach and look forward to the day when that is my goal.

Everyone has their own preferences for what works for them when it comes to working out-- that's great that you can exercise from home. That never seems to work for me... I only seem to get motivated when I'm surrounded by other people working their butts off too.

This should be encouraging me to get off my duff...

But, nevertheless, good for you!
