My game crashed today. Twice. The first time I thought maaaaaybe it was because I was playing on the Viejo lot, which is big, and there was a fair amount of lag, plus it was snowing (which makes even more lag ( Read more... )

I'm sorry that your game is acting funky. That really sucks. I don't know anything that can really help.. but maybe if you haven't defraged in a while you should try it and see if that helps or maybe you need more memory or a new graphic card? How old is your computer?

The error message I get (because it crashes Windows completely and restarts my computer) says it's a driver issue, but that's ridiculous because I haven't installed any new drivers and my game worked fine yesterday. I should defrag because I haven't in a while but that's not what's going on here, I'm afraid. :/

Maybe you need to upgrade your drivers? I had that happen to me too but not with the sims and it was that the drivers where getting too old to run my games as I updated them. It sucks but maybe that would work?

Hope you get it fixed soon.

The last time I tried to upgrade any of my drivers, it borked my game even more than it already was and I had to go back to the old ones. And I wouldn't have the faintest idea how to figure out which drivers, if any, needed updating anyway.

Besides, it worked just fine yesterday and I haven't done anything to the game itself since then. There is no reason it should be crashing my system.

The Sims sucks sometimes. It's so horribly BUGGY! I tried to start it up today- the first time I was able to play since June! Yeah. Didn't start. :-( I had to troubleshoot for about an hour before it worked again. Made me not even want to play :-\
