I HATED PE! It didn't help me at all, I fought it all the way, I didn't see it helping the severely obese kids either. Well, PE was fun until high school, then I hated it. I don't think it should be mandatory in high school, by then, I wouldn't say it's too late, but forcing 2 years of PE on teenagers isn't going to change anything, they have to WANT to do it. All PE ever did was lower my GPA because I wasn't very good at sports or running and was always hurting myself, and that's when I damaged my knee, too. I hurt myself on their watch and I paid for it with a "P" grade that year, wtf? Teach health and nutrition, and start younger, like 6th grade, I think that would be more beneficial than forcing PE on teens.

Yep, I think it should be mandatory. I enjoyed PE in primary school, we did heaps of different stuff, and I especially loved learning square dancing (hey, I was 9!), playing Newcombe ball, and doing this aerobics/dance type thing to music called the Health Hustle ( ... )
