Richard Armitage is reading Georgette Heyer's Venetia next. Venetia. Damerel! Ye gods! Abridged, alas, but I'm focussing on the glass half full, here. It's available next April.

Also, by way of an alert/reminder, Paul Dempsey is Live at the Wireless on Triple J next Monday night, I believe. It's not on the website as I type, but I just ( Read more... )

I KNOW!
He's also done (an abridged version of) Sylvester. Have you come across this one?

The thought of Venetia does put a little spring in my step.
All springs at this stage gratefully received... :)

We've been reissuing about 6 Georgette Heyers a year for a while now, and it's so much fun to relive my youth. I didn't know there were any audiobooks, though.

She's an eternal favourite, and people are steadily looking for her in the bookshoppe.

There are a few audiobooks available, some unabridged, which is of course preferable! There's a discussion of them here. (I hope that link works. The Sian Pillips ones hold some appeal for me- I do love her!) But I am very much looking forward to RA's interpretation of Damerel, I must say!

Edit: The link won't work, I suspect. But there are plenty of audio books around it seems. But I think I'll stick with the written word (except in special circumstances!).

Brilliant, roll on April.

As an aside, I was watching last week's GNW with Paul Dempsey singing "Fire" and was completely in awe, so thanks for the heads up :)

That 'Fire' was indeed a great version- who could blame Wil Anderson for seeking his help! And he is mesmerising, no? His voice can break one's heart.

Ah, April. And Spooks 8 starts Wednesday night in the UK. Woot! ( Confession )
