there are sailing ships that pass all our bodies in the grass

It is so warm. Amusingly, all the WIPs I'm invested in involve being cold, so I haven't been able to write them at the moment XD I'm not complaining about the heat, though -- I vastly prefer it to being cold, which I've spent most of this year being. So I've been spending a load of time sitting in the field down the road with my notebook and ( Read more... )

FEELINGS ARE COMPLICATED AND MESSY CAN I JUST MAKE NEAL FALL OFF A BUILDING NOW.

Hee! I know how that feels. :) Also, I am very much in favor of Neal falling off buildings. (Um. Er. I mean. I am occasionally slightly evil, yes. But wonderful h/c potential!)

Although one of my favorite ways of coping with heat is to write or read about someplace very cold. It's been over 100F here lately, and I'm pondering writing hypothermia fic and/or wondering which of my current WIPs would still work if set upstate on a mountain in a blizzard or something.

And yes, interviews are terrifying. Ack. Good luck with the job search!

This whole thing of having to organise my own life now is rather daunting. The lack of that was my favourite thing about being a student! But I need money to pay my rent and internet bill :(

Normally I am right there with writing the opposite of the current climate, but it is literally too hot at the moment (and especially in my room) to visualise not being hot XD I'm currently trying to work out a plot in which there is sunstroke. Like, Neal tied up and abandoned on a rooftop, the surface of which is actually painful to touch with bare skin. (The fire escape I usually like sitting on is doing that at the moment, and I'm a great fan of throwing annoyances in my life onto fictional characters :P)

Being a student is wonderful. (I am halfway through grad school now, after about six years of attempting - with varying degrees of success - to organize my own life.)

I approve of this plot, too! *offers carrots for the plotbunnies*

I just followed you on Twitter (@aka_TeeJay). :-) Say, are we gonna see each other in London in August, together with Rabidchild?

Oh, and self-replicating cake is fun! I had one a long time ago. It had a name, but I don't actually remember that one. Just make sure you feed it well!

EDIT: Now I remember. It was called Hermann.

Yes, we will! :D I'm really looking forward to it. I love getting to meet internet friends in RL.

And yup, that's the same cake I've got :D It's my new pet.

Yep, I'm sticking to gen, it's much easier! Angst in a non-romantic way I can do, Neal falling off a building... maybe! *evil grin* Though atm I seem to be AUing Neal getting shot in the leg - no idea where that idea might have come from!! *bg* (I suspect the AU won't get written, but then again, I said that about the last one...)

Gen is definitely easier (and gen h/c is very clearly my happy place! :P). I'm enjoying the practice writing other stuff, though -- it's certainly a challenge :)

I fully support your AUs!

Here is the cake instruction sheet to explain it. It's basically a chain letter in cake form! If you give away two portions, bake one, and grow a new cake with the last portion, you have an endless supply of cake :D

Also, I'm sorry I'm so behind on emails! D:
