Beading: String Theory

Now that I'm doing a bit of beading again I'm facing an old issue, the pros and cons of the materials used for stringing. Some threads are too fat for my beading needles, so they must be reserved for larger scale projects. Other threads tend to get shredded by the two-cut glass beads ( Read more... )

You may want to google a site called "landofodds.com" They offer nylon and silk bead cords that they claim knot very well and easily because of the twist. Also, the cords are sold in different sizes and colors with a thin needle already attached. Fairly reasonably priced, too. Bear in mind, though, silk deteriorates more quickly than nylon, and it is recommended that if you are beading pearls, that they be restrung every 3-4 years. Hope this helps.
