[Phone; unfiltered]

Good evening, Mayfield! Allow me to introduce myself - my name is Rarity, and I'm living at 836 Hastings Boulevard with the Liebert family. They've given me quite a warm welcome, and Mayfield has shown itself to be possessed of some rather... quaint charms of its own when it's not playing bad jokes on us. Unfortunately, there is ( Read more... )

Shall I take this to mean that you've finished my commission, my good... mare?

[Grimsley thoughtfully examines the design, rubbing the fabric between his fingers, examining the stitching, casting a dubious eye at the embellishments. He'll make his pronouncement after a moment or two.]

Perhaps a little lighter on the gemstones. I like to aim more for brooding aristocrat than belle of the ball.

Otherwise. Good.

Ah, I see. Hmm...

[Rarity thinks for a moment as her horn begins to glow, lifting several of the gems off the outfit but leaving a few around the wrists. They essentially look like fancy cufflinks at this point.]

There! How's that, then? I would have used darker stones, but I'm afraid Mayfield didn't include them with my fabric.

[Grimsley will flash a smile in appreciation.]

Charming.

For a first time effort for a different species, it's more than adequate. At least... to the eyes. Do you mind terribly if I try it for a fit?

Not at all! Feel free!

[Rarity proudly steps aside, gesturing with one foreleg toward the suit. She's nothing if not meticulous, so he should find it a rather good fit even for her first attempt at human clothing.]

[Eh-hem. Grimsley waits for Rarity to avert her eyes before he removes his current (somewhat stodgy) suit to try on the new one. Though it takes him a few minutes, it's quite clear that this is much more to his liking.]

Hmm... I've waited a quarter of a year for this. Most satisfactory.

[And of course she obliges. Always polite this one. But she's all smiles when she turns back around.]

Oh, it fits you perfectly! The cut is rather striking, wouldn't you say? I'm rather pleased with how it turned out. Not bad for a first pass, if I do say so myself!

I can only imagine what you may be able to accomplish with some more experience. Now... how much to compensate you for your efforts?

The sky's the limit! I do hope you will continue to patronize this shop in the future, Mr. Grimsley. As for payment...

[blah blah she quotes some sort of reasonable amount that will enable her to replace the supplies she used, etc.]

How does that sound?

I would suggest an exquisite dinner and a glass of champagne instead, but I suspect that wouldn't do in this case.

[The money is handed over.]

Why Mr. Grimsley, you certainly do know how to talk to a lady. I certainly wouldn't be averse to such an arrangement either.

But of course. The members of the fairer sex must be... suitably admired. But are you certain you wish to partake of human food?

A nice garden salad should be fine, I would think.

As you please. Then, shall we say... Sunday at noon?

Yes, that sounds lovely. I'll be looking forward to it!

Certainly not as much as I to have the company of such a lady as yourself.

Let us meet again this weekend, then.
