I still nearly fall off my chair every time Rygel calls Zhaan a big blue bitch, mind. The BBC versions snipped plenty...
The sweariness is one of the many, many reasons I love that damn show. I started having an end of S2/all S3 rewatch, but I always get stuck on the couple of duff ones in S3 after J&A get together and there's a big yawnfest going on on Talyn. And then it goes all awesome and heartbreaky again. *must reorder next disk*
Haha, they did. And Jool says "crap" and "piss" a lot. And I never saw 'Clockwork Nebari' the first time it aired, but I'm betting they cut the OH MY GOD EYEBALLS scene.
And yeah. Maybe I'm just a particularly sweary person. But if I were stuck in the Uncharted Territories, being chased by a particularly frightening Peacekeeper, I'd swear a lot, too.
I never watched it properly the first time around, so while I know the arcs and the spoilers, I'm pretty rusty on individual episodes. Thankfully, now FX is showing it every day, I'm catching up fast.
It's one of those things I fail as a geek for watching and keep meaning to get round to, despite my ex (who knew me well) trying to sell me on it by waving pictures of Claudia Black under my nose. Maybe when I've finished B5.
Seriously, watch it. For a show that's basically Wizard of Oz in space with Muppets... it is so, so good. I feel the need to quote the TV Tropes summary: Sure, I feel like an idiot 'Scaper loving this show; it's got Muppets, who wouldn't? But the difference between forcing yourself to read Ulysses and watching this show is the difference between hitting yourself in the head with something heavy, and watching people who are entirely too hot blowing shit up and making out. No fucking contest, Joyce. Sorry. And in between the Muppets and the explosions, it has made me laugh till my ribs hurt and also bawl my eyes out.
Also, you will know many new and incomprehensible ways to swear. Frell me dead!
I'm not big on Farscape, though we have the whole run on VHS/DVD. I think it's because I kept seeing odd bits of it when Dave's former housemate was watching the entire run. Even with Dave explaining I couldn't really figure out what was going on or who some of the characters were.
Oh, btw, I had a dream last night in which I had shorter hair (about chin length) and you were helping me style it. I think I was getting it partly braided? Even in dream I appreciated the irony.
