[Bazett does not know how to respond to the girl's offer. She does not know if the girl is just another Mayfield construct out to mess with her, or if she is sincere in her offer. Furthermore, she has had her fill of caroling after being droned for 24 hours. Still, she does not want to sound too nasty to a child.]

I...have already gone around caroling for an entire day yesterday. I am not sure whether or not I wish to do it again.

But this isn't about the carols! This about everybody being together on Christmas eve. It's about making each other happy no matter what the town is doing.

That sounds like a noble sentiment. ...But I would certainly be unhappy if I had to listen to people singing Christmas carols.

But if you just stay at home and don't do anything then it's like you're giving up!

The town always wins. And nobody tries to help each other. And when bad stuff happens, we just yell and cry and wait. Wait for it to end. I don't want to do that this time....

[She looks at the floor, dejected. Maybe it was too much to ask grown-ups to understand this kind of thing.]

[Nozomi's new here, so she doesn't understand what the heck this town does just yet. Frankly, beyond the creepy drones that she sees from time to time, she doesn't care about the others and how they are - they're people, too~

Seeing this little girl and her asking does fill her with doubt - probably more of this place's wackiness, but between acting OOC and snubbing her and accepting her no mater what...]
