I like what is written about that hereI'd like to contact that blogger and tell her that I appreciate her words, that she'd be welcome on this comm, but I don't want to subscribe to her blog because my online life is already busy. The person who wrote that blog is missing something. They don't distinguish between "someone who does not live with the condition" and "someone who lives with the condition and might actually have useful advice." What if I have lived with a condition for 40-odd years and the other person has lived with it for a few months? Am I not supposed to give them suggestions ( ... )

Yes, I've had some terrific advice from people with my condition, and similar conditions too! Most people, though, want to tell me how to lose weight.

I get a lot of suggestions about how I can 'build up' to being less ill. Most people perceive my disability as one that fluctuates, because it does change a lot on any timescale from minutes to decades. Therefore, if only I'd [insert suggestion] I could get better and better and then I wouldn't be disabled any more! I could prove 'all the doctors' wrong! I'd be 'amazed'! I should do this because then I'd be even more of an 'inspiration', even more 'impressive' and 'brave' than I already am!

That's a very old post, it's from 2008, I don't think they contribute to feministe anymore and I don't suggest following it because of an old post, they have a reputation for disability fail including slurs, attacking people with celiac and the main owner of the blog has been a privileged asshole to several disabled people.
