UK Carers Week

Here in Britain, and perhaps all around the world, people who care for disabled or old people often aren't paid. Nor are they always taken seriously enough by others, including by doctors.

I empathise with your sister. When I asked about home help, there was nothing available on the UK National Health Service (NHS). Instead I was given a list of approved service providers - 'approved' as in not criminal - but I'd have had to pay for them privately. From my tiny income. As to how much they'd earn... care work's notoriously badly paid.
