Already seeing comments on a disabled activist friend's FB saying "well maybe she reached end of tether" "It's so hard to bring up disabled children" etc... "Maybe there was a reason" which people just wouldn't say about non disabled children... >:(

I couldn't possibly make any comments on this until we know more and that's not likely to happen until she is either charged and on trial or let go. Whatever reason this happened it is still a tragedy.

Yes it is. You're right not to jump to judgement. I've added another link to my post above, showing the opinions of a 'family friend'.

According to the BBC, the mother's been charged with murder. :o(

My mum's diagnosis is SMA (type IV). It's a horrible disease.

Whether the children had it or not, it's a horrific situation all around. :o(

The article you've linked to says that Mr Clarence, the kids' father, was 'on holiday in South Africa with members of his family.' The Clarences are from S Africa, but even so, I feel inclined to judge this husband and father for leaving his wife to care for 3 very young children who were seriously ill.

Yeah, apparently he was over there with their eldest child (a girl, I think, who hasn't been diagnosed with SMA). I don't know. Maybe it was meant to give the eldest child some 'me time', maybe there was a specific reason... I just don't know. I do agree it seems off for the father to be away on what looks like an unnecessary trip, but we don't know all the circumstances.

Those poor kids though. :o(

May I ask why your feel conflicted? As it happens, I do too. I'm watching the news reports but don't choose to link to each one online.
