I hate when comics aren't funny and are all about serious business. Its like when everyone on Friends started having real problems. I don't want real life to intrude on my fantasy characters. But yeah, I don't know this comic so I have no idea what they're talking about either. I think she's planning on suckerpunching him to the gut as soon as he puts that ring on her finger though.
well they're childhood sweethearts, and their relationship really isn't the suckerpunch type, so honestly this is all completely out of left field as far as i know. her reasoning just doesn't make any sense.
i'd argue that the characters still aren't living enough in the real world for this to really be an intrusion-- i mean, a 19-year-old ballerina/orchestral piano accompanist's getting her ideas from a daydream she had while her cello-playing boyfriend is encoring after the two of them helped him win first place in a prestigious competition AND during this competition the two of them making it with each other just HAPPENED to get on TV thanks to a convenient hot air balloon with a news team camping out in it apparently...
so yeah. not minding the bit of real life so much :)
then why is she bringing up dance vs music? it's not like the two are mutually exclusive. it is a bad metaphor and an even worse excuse. I DEMAND QUALITY METAPHORS/BREAKUPS FROM MY COMICS.
