Oh, I love these people SO MUCH. Why can't they be real?!

What a creepy, wonderful, perfect song. I loved this, thank you!

Yay! I'm really glad you liked it! I agree, the song is pitch-perfect XF -- I'm not even all that tired of it after lord knows how many hours of listening to it while vidding this, again and again and AGAIN. *g*

Holy crap, I loved this! I don't think you have any reason to feel unsure about the timing of the clips, or that you weren't able to communicate the "feel" of how each scene fit with the lyrics -- I thought that all worked out amazingly well.

This is hard to describe, but I've gotten a lot of XF vid watching under my belt in the past several months, and something I noticed about yours that I liked, but that's much more uncommon (and is what makes it a cut above the rest, in my opinion) is that while each clip has either a subtle or a very direct relation to the lyric it's timed to, it's not... in-your-face about it. Does that even make sense? I guess what I mean is that, while each clip fits with the lyrics very well, the overall flow of the entire video isn't broken up (which can often happen when things change too abruptly, transitions are awkward or jarring, or when there isn't a general tone to a video at all, and the whole thing just feels like one big clips reel). I really doubt I'm making sense, but it's the best way I can ( ... )

Oh, thank you so much! I'm really thrilled you liked it so much. As for "in your face," I know exactly what you mean, and the half of my effort that wasn't spent tweaking the timing sequence was spent trying really hard to walk that fine line between "relevant clips that tell a story visually and string an emotional thread" and "totally random clips that fit the lyric literally and clunk right along" -- so I'm really flattered you think I succeeded in avoiding too much of that. There are still some parts that aren't quite smooth enough for me... but I'm satisfied overall.

And WORD to your second-to-last paragraph. David rocks. TXF rocks. Best thing ever.

Heh, thank god my point translated. I'm so bad about rambling incoherently when attempting to explain abstract or complex points. But I definitely think you succeeded in that goal, which is really refreshing to see. Because, like I said, the "in your face" videos are everywhere.

David rocks. TXF rocks. Best thing ever.

WORD (to your WORD, heh). I really, really need to learn how to vid, dammit. SOMEDAY.

It's actually surprisingly easy! I just use Windows Movie Maker to edit and ImToo Platinum 4 to rip. It's really time consuming, but I got the general hang of it really quick.

Thanks! I'm glad you liked it. And I have a long list of songs in mind, as well, but recommendations are always fun. :)

what about Phil Colins "a groovy kind of love" as Mulder/Scullylovesong ?
or "the woman in me, needs the man in you" by shania twain, sounds crappy, but Scully is the only person I think it makes sense for to say it.
"Mr.tamborin man" always reminds me of Mulder...

Great video! Man, this is such an angsty song. It's so perfect for this. You really picked out some great clips. I think the pacing was perfect. And, man, it made me long for some of that moody Mulder/Scully interaction again. *sigh*

I'm really impressed how well this turned out. You should make more vids.

Thanks! I'm really glad you enjoyed it -- and the pacing, which I wasn't completely sure of. I really dragged out the first half, to get that slow build - hopefully that's more obvious and effective on second viewing.

I'm hoping to make more! Unfortunately, at school I only have half my XF DVD collection, which means I can't always get the perfect clip. But I do have all the mytharc eps (which we have two sets of, since we got the mythology dvds), so as long as I stick to that theme, I could be okay!

i am just speechless. if one can be speechless in a text-based environment. this has to be one of the most moving, beautifully rendered, amazing things i've seen in a long time. it so perfectly encapsulates how these two people feel about each other, and how i feel about them. the starkness of the song and its slow build is startlingly perfect for the stripped down story you're telling here. (and that it *is* a story) and everything leucocrystal said as well. i'm not exaggerating when i say that i felt my heart sort of fluttery and dipping in my chest. there were times when i was holding my breath.

even though i know we are sometimes our own worst critics, i cannot imagine there being anything about this vid that you aren't completely happy with and proud of. i'm practically a gushing fangirl here, but really, thank you so much for sharing this.

Sorry for the delay in replying! I wanted to make sure and tell you how grateful I am for this response... it seems like I was able to convey what the song in an XF context, and XF itself, means to me, and all the love I have for it and M&S. I'm *really* happy about that, and thanks so much for all your kind words! Nothing makes me happier than seeing that other XF fans enjoy my video in the same way I do.
