RPGs for Haiti

Jan 20, 2010 12:43

A number of the smaller publishers in the RPG industry have gotten together with the people who run RPGNow.com and DriveThruRPG to put together a benefit bundle for Haiti relief. They're donating 100% of the purchase price to Doctors Without Borders

One of the publishers has put a (nearly complete, as more are being added) list in his post: http://Read more... )

charity, rpg, haiti

And they have the Veggie Patch! Who could resist the lure of playing vegetables? That has MaxiCon written all over it!

And if you don't like the mechanics, there's a dozen or more complete systems, covering everything from the Old School Revival to the more experimental and existential type systems out there, including some highly acclaimed systems.

On the other hand, we could just cross breed Veggie Patch and Ogg (which pretty much gives you a vegetarian Creeks and Crawdads, I think....)

There's enough in the 100+ PDFs to run a few cons without ever repeating.

Oooo, I like the cross breeding idea. It would be a game about vegetables slowly gaining sentience and their plot to displace humanity and take over the world!

Wow - lots of stuff on that list! Even if I only find a fraction of it useful, it's still worth it, even before you factor in the good cause. Thanks for the tip, Phil!

No problem. Just trying to spread the word. I had been thinking of sending a donation to Doctors Without Borders (I prefer their operations to the Red Cross on some levels) anyway, this just made it easy and gives me good stuff in return.

Yup. And they've raised over $8000 since I did (over 31 thousand so far and counting.)
