Fund-raising for the Australian floods

As you may have heard, parts of Australia are in the grip of "once in a hundred years" or "once in two hundred years" or "unprecedented" floods.

Thank you! I'm in Victoria, which is flooding at the moment. My area is safe, but only an hour or so north of me towns are in big trouble. After so many years of drought it's hard to believe.

Which part of Vic are you in? I lived in Dandenong for 18 months many years ago, so I was rather shocked to see the floods had hit Victoria. Only... how?! How do they get from Queensland to Vic and apparently miss NSW on the way?

I'm in the Macedon Ranges, about an hour north of Melbourne, where this time of year is normally spent worrying about bushfires. Not at the moment!

The flood patterns are truly bizarre. The band of rain seemed to just hit the western part of NSW before curling in to take in lots of Victoria - all very strange!
